This is what winter running should always be like!!  Blue sky!  Warmer temps! (near 30?)  Some nice light and fluffy powder!  I ran up the BST to the lower tower and then took the service road (dirt and closed to traffic) home.  Running down the service road in the powder was great fun.  I wish more winter runs could be just like today.  I was a happy fly.

12.39 pace,  but who cares.  Pace on snowy trails is pretty meaningless.

Happy new years!!!

Sounds like fun. Are your feet frozen and wet when you get home?

I'm smiling big reading about your run! I can just picture a happy fly playing in the snowy trail! Hope more days like that are instored for the rest of the winter. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I need to keep telling my self that pace in the snow doesn't matter...I hope we have many more great running days this winter.

My feet do not usually get wet. I guess cause the snow is dry and too cold to melt. But they did get a bit wet on this day, not so much from the snow but the slushy stuff down lower. I wear short gaiters to keep the snow out of my shoes. I also have winter running shoes but they aren't as comfortable I haven't bothered to wear them this year. With a pair of med thick Smart Wool socks my feet stay nice an warm even with my mesh topped running shoes when it is in the teens. Sounds odd but it works for me.

Hope you've had some equally as fun runs Smooth.... I need to check your blog and find out!

Kathy, It is often dangerous to try to run fast in the snow. Since I'm not training for anything, I have the luxury of going S L O W on pretty trails.

I can't imagine running that cold. I ran outside when it was 40 once. Once.
