DNR Fun Run.  DNR = Department of Natural Resources.  This is not a real race but a timed fun run put on at my work for employees.  The results are pretty much a foregone conclusion.  The fast guy wins (he mentioned that he used to run 15 minute 5 Ks w/in a bigger workout as part of his training).  Dependent upon who is in the office and what side of a Marathon I'm on, I'm second or third.  Today I was second.

The fast guy ran with me for the first half and then left me behind.  I did not go all out as St. George is only 9 days away.  I felt good till about the 2nd mile mark and then slowed because I was suffering from an abdominal cramp of some sort.  I do not cramp often and I'm not sure why I did, but no big deal.....  Recovered and then ran the course again so as to get some more miles.

I finished in 20:37.  Splits-  6:16, 6:30, 6:44.

Based on Sasha's race time predictor I think I can go under 3:10 at St. George, if all goes well.

YOU ARE THE FAST GUY in MY book! :) :) :)

NICE tempo run even with tummy cramp!

Sounds like you are ready for a good time at SGM! :)

It's is getting nearer to the top of my to do list. Next week we are leaving for a 4 week trip to Turkey, Greece, Spain, and maybe Andorra and/or France.... Busy, busy, busy... but I get my report done soon.

WOW, can I fit in your suitcase? Wish I could end my marathon season with that trip! WHY are you going? Work? Fun?

Our friends (with kids our kids age) moved from Salt Lake to Barcelona. We are going to visit them. The cheapest flights were on Turkish airlines. For the same price we got a 10 day layover instead of a 10 hour layover AND our friends are meeting us in Istanbul.

That sounds like quite the adventure! Jealous.

Wow, that's a long way from home. I hope you have a fantastic time.
