So sorry for the loss of your friend! Those pix look like HAPPY TIMES!!! Anyone with a name, Larry, has got to be pretty special!

Sorry about the loss of your friend!

So sorry you lost your fiend. My best friend died a few months ago and it's still difficult. Hope you're doing ok.

From fly on the Wall on Tue, Nov 08, 2011 at 12:16:56 from 204.113.19.47

Dang Dale. I'm sorry to hear that.

From DaleG on Tue, Nov 08, 2011 at 12:54:25 from 71.199.57.238

Yeah, it's been tough. He died while my family and I were on vacation at Disneyland. How are you doing?

From fly on the Wall on Tue, Nov 08, 2011 at 13:37:47 from 204.113.19.47

That must have totally sucked. How are you doing?

I'm hanging in there. I'm trying to decide if I should drive to southern California for my friends memorial. It is a long way but I could combine it with stopping at my grandfather's to pick up my dad's old car.......

From DaleG on Tue, Nov 08, 2011 at 14:05:57 from 71.199.57.238

I'm doing better, but I still think about him every day. His little sister and I have adopted each other, so she's my little sister now. I'd known him since kindergarten.

If I were you, I'd try and make the drive down to southern California. We tried to drive back for the funeral, but our car kept breaking down and it took us two days to get back, so we missed the funeral and I'm really bummed about that.

Dale that really sucks!

If I drive my old truck to tow back my dad's old car, I'm a bit worried about break down myself.

From fly on the Wall on Thu, Nov 10, 2011 at 10:46:20 from 204.113.19.47

Well Dale, the old truck is full of gas. The tires are aired up, oil checked. I still need to add some coolant, but other than that I'm ready to pick up the flat bed trailer and head across central Nevada. Then it is on to eastern California to load up my dad's old Europa at my grandpa's house in the middle of nowhere. With luck I'll head to southern Cal from there and make it to the memorial. You'd better wish me luck!

It sounds like it'll be quite the adventure. If I didn't have a lot going on, I'd go with you. Good luck. I hope it all works out ok.

sorry for your loss, Fly.

I hope the drive, which sounds like quite an adventure, went on without incident.

From DaleG on Sun, Nov 13, 2011 at 23:45:23 from 71.199.57.238

Hey, I hope the trip went well.

From fly on the Wall on Tue, Nov 15, 2011 at 16:33:43 from 204.113.19.47

Thanks guys. The trip went great and was well worth the 1,600 miles! My old truck didn't flinch. I've parked my dad's old car in my sister's garage, ready to be worked on. My son and I got to visit my grandfather. My friend's memorial was tearful but great. I got to see a lot of old friends.

I will update my running blog and add some pictures as soon as I get a chance.
