My goal was sub 3, but I was never convinced I could run that and I didn't.  I started a bit too slow and got progressively slower.   Thing is, I didn't really care that I wasn't hitting my splits.  Toward the end my motivation was just to keep running so that I could cross the finish line and stop running.  I fueled and hydrated well.  I didn't feel the heat was a problem.  The head wind wasn't an issue.  I am neither satisfied nor really disappointed.  I don't feel burnt out, just ambivalent.  I think I like running a lot more than I like trying to run fast (for me).

I did get to see quite a few forum friends, including meeting the famous Kelli and her husband for the first time.  Kelli must have been right on my heels at the finish.  I'm surprised she didn't run me over.

The big question is, what's next?  The Slam?  More trail races?  Another shot at sub 3? Gluttony?  Slothfulness?  I really wish races didn't fill up so early so that I could ponder for a long time.

I KNOW I like running a lot more than I like running fast!!! :) :) :)

So bummed I didn't see you at SG! :(

Except for the fact that you are A WHOLE LOT FASTER than me, I'm kinda in the same boat. My SG times for 2009, 2010 and 2011 are 3:57:41, 3:58:49, 3:57:51 respectively. I'd love to see a 3:55 someday; but it if doesn't happen, it's no biggie!

Hey at least you have a lot of options for what's next...somehow I doubt gluttony or slothfulness is in your card though! It'll be FUN whatever you decide! :)

NICE company 5K today btw!

Mark, looks like you ran a pretty consistent pace there. Good job. And now you have already run a 5k. That's crazy stuff. You could totally run a sub 3. Great race.

The famously stupid racer Kelli is what you meant to say....BUT I was so happy to finally meet the guy with the great fridge door handles.

Very interesting race report. I was trying to run you over when I FINALLY caught back up to you, lucky for you I had nothing in the tank. BUT you did give me great focus there at the end, thanks for wearing that shirt so I could spot you.

We are currently debating the grand slam. I will do it if you will. ;o)

I LOVE ambivalence! Well, maybe. (I know, not quite the same the second time around...)

Good job though, Fly!

It was just one of those days Fly - we all have them. I know it wasn't exactly what you hoped for but it was still a solid marathon time.

I just think you are stinkin' amazing!!!

How about this for a goal: (nevermind ... can't think of anything witty to say)

Seriously, that is a fantastic time! Congrats! :)
