8 on JRP.  Chevron has paved 1 of the 2 unpaved miles between the end of the JRP and beginning of the Legacy Parkway Trail.  I know this because I ran to the pavement and saw a sign that said, "Chevron Mile."

Is that a good or bad thing?

Good question. I'm happy to run on dirt, but this trail was not maintained at all and had so many noxious weeds that it was nearly impassible in late summer. It had a ton of sharp thistles that were over head high and would leave you scratched and bloody.... At least the pavement should keep the weeds at bay.

Do you think Sinclair or Flying J will pave the other one?

I can hope. But I don't think they do as much community outreach. Ironically this part of the trail is a state park, but they won't even deal with the weeds! Maybe you can write a letter to your favorite senator about that.
