tempo-ish run on JRP

Nice tempo-ish run. Does that mean there was no watch, just running by effort?

I wear my watch but am not running by it. I've been running with a guy that works in my building. He always wants to run at a faster pace than I normally would. So, I have been running tempo runs with him on Mondays and intervals on Wednesdays. On Mondays he seems to push the pace for the first few miles but by mile 3 I'm starting to get in cruise mode, by mile 5 I'm looking over my shoulder to make sure I don't drop him. By the end I'm feeling great but he looks pretty worked and has stopped running a few times before we've made it back. We did a 10 miler up and down a canyon and after stopping a few times I eventually finished solo.

I had been trying to keep us at a slower pace but he said his knee would hurt at slower paces. Now I'm just going with the flow and taking advantage of the good workouts.

Sounds like you've got his number. Nice way to take advantage of the pace and make it a tempo run.

hows the pursuit and not so secret dream of a sub-3 marathon? Alive and well I hope!

Hmmm.... Maybe an age-graded sub-three?
